Medi
Medication Management and Integrative Psychiatry

Medication management in psychiatric care involves the thoughtful assessment, prescription, and ongoing monitoring of medications to treat mental health conditions. Treatment is tailored to each individual, taking into account diagnosis, medical history, current symptoms, and potential side effects, with the goal of improving symptoms, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.

During medication management appointments, providers conduct comprehensive evaluations of a patient’s progress and response to treatment. This includes discussing any changes since the last visit, assessing the effectiveness of current medications, and addressing side effects or concerns. Care is collaborative, with patients actively involved in decisions about continuing or adjusting their treatment plan to ensure safety, effectiveness, and alignment with their goals.

We incorporate an integrative psychiatry approach, combining conventional psychiatric treatments with evidence-based complementary strategies. By recognizing the connection between physical, emotional, and mental health, we may include elements such as nutrition, mindfulness, and lifestyle support to create a well-rounded, personalized plan that promotes lasting mental wellness.

Depression
Spravato

Spravato is an FDA-approved treatment for adults with treatment-resistant depression. It is a nasal spray administered in a monitored clinical setting and works differently from traditional antidepressants, targeting glutamate pathways in the brain to support faster symptom relief for some individuals.

Spravato is used in combination with an oral antidepressant and is carefully prescribed as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Each session takes place in-office under the supervision of a qualified provider to ensure safety and monitor response. Patients are observed after administration, as temporary side effects such as dissociation, dizziness, or increased blood pressure can occur.

At Vital Harmony Mental Health, we take a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to Spravato treatment. We conduct a thorough evaluation to determine if this option is appropriate and provide ongoing monitoring and support throughout the process. Our goal is to offer effective, evidence-based care while helping individuals find relief, improve functioning, and regain a sense of balance and well-being.

Relationships
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Child and Adolescent psychiatry specializes in the mental health care of individuals aged 6 and older. It focuses on understanding and addressing the unique challenges that adolescents face during this transitional phase of life. Through assessments, therapy, and medication management when necessary, adolescent psychiatrists provide tailored support to navigate issues such as mood disorders, anxiety, behavioral concerns, academic stress, and peer relationships, fostering emotional well-being and healthy development.

Couples Therapy
Perinatal Mental Health

Perinatal mental health focuses on the emotional and psychological well-being of individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with additional training in perinatal mental health, I specialize in diagnosing, treating, and supporting those experiencing mood and anxiety disorders during this critical time.

During a consultation, we take a comprehensive approach to understanding your unique experiences, symptoms, and concerns. Treatment may include evidence-based medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and collaborative care to ensure the safest and most effective approach for both you and your baby.

By prioritizing perinatal mental health, we aim to enhance overall well-being, promote a healthy transition into parenthood, and provide the compassionate support you deserve. Your mental health matters, and I am here to help you navigate this journey with confidence and care.

Trauma
Deprescribing
Adolescent Therapy

Deprescribing is the thoughtful process of reducing or discontinuing medications that may no longer be necessary or may be causing more harm than benefit. As a healthcare provider, I specialize in helping patients optimize their medication regimens to ensure they are receiving the most effective and appropriate treatment for their health needs.

During a deprescribing consultation, we carefully review your current medications, considering factors such as their effectiveness, potential side effects, interactions with other medications, and your individual health goals. Together, we develop a personalized plan to safely reduce or eliminate medications that are no longer needed or may be contributing to adverse effects.

By deprescribing, we aim to improve your overall well-being, reduce the risk of medication-related complications, and enhance your quality of life. It's an essential part of comprehensive healthcare that prioritizes safety, effectiveness, and patient-centered care.
